The Three Mariners used to be known as the Carpenter's Arms and there has been a pub here since the 1400s. The cellar is unusual in being upstairs and water from the Castle rock keeps it cool all year. 
The cobbled street in front of the pub is all that remains of Bridge Lane.



Three Mariners was voted Town Pub of the Year 2006 and 2007 by the local branch of CAMRA.
